Gosset Matchmakers 2024

CHAMPAGNE GOSSET Is A FOOD AND WINE PAIRING COMPETITION FOR RISING CHEFS AND SOMMELIERS.

The competition, now in its ninth year, represents the pinnacle of Champagne and gastronomy pairing. This year’s competition attracted some of the very best and the final took place at Cord by Le Cordon Bleu in September in partnership with Louis Latour Agencies and The Sommelier Edit.

Gosset Matchmakers recognises and awards up-and-coming sommelier and chef partnerships who create perfect food and wine pairings in restaurants and other eateries all over the country.

In 2023 we asked entrants to create an innovative dish to pair with Gosset Grand Rosé. The finalists were then surprised with a mystery ingredient and champagne on the morning of the final and asked to prepare a second on-the-spot pairing with, matching Gosset Grand Millésime 2015 with Cassava, selected by 2023 chef’s judge Luciana Berry.

Entries for the 2024 competition will open on Monday 29th April 2024. Details will be announced shortly.

HOW IT WORKS

Gosset Matchmakers is a competition for rising chefs and sommeliers with fewer than five years professional experience.

Teams are invited to submit an imaginative and innovative food pairing with Gosset champagne

Five finalists will be invited to Cord by Le Cordon Bleu to prepare and present their pairing. On the day they will be asked to respond to a mystery wine and box of ingredients to create a second dish to further demonstrate their creativity and ability to work as a team under pressure.

Experienced judging panel


2023 JUDGES

Our 2023 panel of judges includes Matthieu Longuere MS from Le Cordon Bleu, Melody Wong from The Peninsula London, Luciana Berry winner of Top Chef Brazil and Le Cordon Bleu graduate, Bertrand Verduzier from Champagne Gosset and Will Oatley from Louis Latour Agencies.
